First Bank Rolls Up Big Score For Junior Achievement Program

Employees team up to raise over $6,000 during a JA Bowl-A-Thon in Olivette, Missouri

With the “Nine Pin No Tap” team leading the way, First Bank staff raised over $6,000 for Junior Achievement of Greater St. Louis during a recent JA Bowl-A-Thon at Olivette Bowling Lanes.

Ten First Bank teams took part in the Bowl-A-Thon with “Nine Pin” rolling up the top total fundraising amount ($1,075). Of the 50 First Bank employees who competed in the Bowl-A-Thon, Kathy Knopp posted the highest individual amount ($520). Her “Nine Pin” teammates were Cindy Holman, Peggy Lawrence, Glenda Ricketson and Sandi McAfee.

The other First Bank teams competing were the “STL Bowlers,” “Gutter Dusters” “Ronnette’s High Rollers,” “Clayton Bankrollers,” “King Pins,” “Lighting Strikers,” “Blamy’s Bunch,” “Pin Busters” and “Project Rollers.” Debra Hellmann, First Bank’s Director of Corporate Banking, and a JA Board Member, initiated staff participation in the JA Bowl-A-Thon.

In addition to the JA Bowl-A-Thon, First Bank employees continue to participate in JA Days at select area elementary schools this spring, teaching students about the importance of financial literacy. First Bank also serves as a sponsor for JA BizTown in Chesterfield.
