Olivette Resident Almost Scammed Out of $9,000
Plus another resident gave a scammer $700 in pre-paid Green Dot cards over the phone.

Miscellaneous: Resident reported someone used her debit card information. Police said the transaction occurred out of state.
April 13: 9400 block of Olive Boulevard

April 9: Olivaire Lane
Fraud: A resident was convinced by a caller to provide numbers to prepaid Green Dot cards over the phone. The caller reportedly threatened the resident with a lawsuit, so the victim provided numbers for $700 worth of money on the cards.
April 9: 9400 block of Olive Boulevard
Fraud: Someone tried to convince a resident to wire transfer $9,000 to him/her claiming to be a friend. Police said the transaction was canceled prior to being processed. It was not clear if the victim was contacted by phone or in person.
