With the departure of former City Manager Mike McDowell this month to take over as Wentzville's city manager, the city is on the hunt for a replacement.

"With 73 full-time employees and an annual budget of $11 million, Olivette is centrally located, 20 minutes from downtown St. Louis.

"We are looking for a responsible and creative leader with proven abilities in local government management. The successful candidate will possess a strong financial and administrative background, a demonstrated record in business, community and sustainable development, effective staff management and human resources experience, and a clear commitment to ethical governance and constituent service.

"The City Manager reports to a 5-member city council. Responsibilities will include administration of city government, supervision of all city departments, management of day-to-day operations, personnel and contracts, financial and budgetary, economic development, marketing and communications duties.

"Requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in public administration or a related field with a master’s degree preferred and at least 5 years of relevant experience."

The city will accept applications through April 12. The applications are going through the East-West Gateway Council of Governments. Application information is available on the city's website.
