Why HB1936 Could Be A Deadly Mistake

Common Sense Gun Laws

I am a gun owner, I am a Mom, and I am a person willing to stand up for common sense gun laws.
Being a Mom of four, my concerns for their wellbeing are myriad, yet one of my biggest concerns is “Missouri HB 1936”. We teach our children the social and moral obligation of not drinking and driving, knowing the profound consequences; the car becomes a deadly weapon when the driver is impaired by alcohol.
Never did I think I would have to add to that a new major concern for what to do if someone pulls out a weapon while sitting at the local bar. Guns and alcohol do not mix. I have seen firsthand what alcohol and guns can do, how they can turn two people’s lives into a living hell. Even the most caring individuals, the ones who have no history of violence, abuse or mental illness are in no way capable of using their brains in full capacity when drinking.
Dear Representatives, I implore you, think about what implications Missouri HB 1936 can have on everyone entering a bar, the innocents who just want a beer. As a gun owner, I would never risk my life or another’s by handling my weapon after even one drink. Allowing concealed carry in bars is a deadly mistake.
