Springfield School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Springfield is August 16. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Springfield Public School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

• 8/16: First Day of School

September

• 9/4: Labor Day (No School)

October

• 10/13: End of First Quarter
• 10/16: No School for Students (Professional Day)
• 10/17: Start of Second Quarter

November

• 11/6 - 11/7: No School for Students (Professional Days)
• 11/22 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving)

December

• 12/21: End of Second Quarter
• 12/22: No School for Students (Professional Day)
• 12/25 - 12/29: No School (Winter Break)

January

• 1/1: No School (New Year's Day)
• 1/2: No School for Students (Professional Day)
• 1/3: Start of Third Quarter
• 1/15: No School (Martin Luther King Jr. Day)

February

• 2/19: No School (Presidents' Day)

March

• 3/8: End of Third Quarter
• 3/9: No School for Students (Professional Day)
• 3/12 - 3/16: No School (Spring Break)
• 3/19: Start of Third Quarter

April

• 4/20: No School for Students (Professional Day)

May

• 5/10 - 5/11: Graduation
• 5/24: Last Day of School
