10 Events to Check out in St. Louis this Weekend
Apple festivals, Oktoberfest, Taste of St. Louis are a few of the events happening

Oktoberfest: St. Charles Oktoberfest is a festival to celebrate German heritage Sept. 27-29 in historic St. Charles. The event includes live entertainment, a Swiss Meat Brat eating contest, a parade on Main Street, a Walk to Cure Diabetes and an antique car show. Admission is free. New this year, shuttles will be offered from the lot in front of Chuck E. Cheese, 2669 Veterans Memorial Parkway, from 4 to 11:30 p.m. Friday and noon to 11:30 p.m. Saturday. The festival continues Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Taste of St. Louis: The annual Taste of St. Louis is Sept. 27-29 at Soldiers Memorial in downtown St. Louis. The event is open from 4-11 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27; 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28; and from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29. Food, beverages, artwork and other goods are available for purchase.
Bacon n' Brewfest for Charity: Sample more than 20 different local beers paired with different kinds of bacon on Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Whole Foods Market. Cost is $7.
Wolf Fest: Check out the several different endangered species of wolves at the Endangered Wolf Center's annual open house. Cost is $25 a car. This family event is 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., rain or shine, Sept. 28. The endangered wolf center is located at 6750 Tyson Valley Road in Eureka, MO.
New Town 80s Night: Listen to the Retro Nerds on Sept. 28 in the New Town amphitheatre at 7 p.m.
Flower Valley Quilt Show: Head to Atonement Lutheran Church at 1285 New Florissant Road to see hundreds of quilted items and have your quilt appraised. Event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 28 and noon to 4 p.m. Sept. 29.
Olivette on the Go: This festival will run from 4 to 10 p.m. Friday, noon to 10 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday at Stacy Park, 9750 Old Bonhomme Road. The festival features live music, games, and carnival rides.
Light the Night: The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society will host the annual light up the Night Fundraiser Friday night at 5:30 p.m. at Forest Park. Learn more here.
Apple Festivals: There are a bunch of apple festivals happening around the region this weekend. Check out the events happening at Rick's Roadside Market in Cottleville, MO, at Mills Apple Farm in Marine, Ill., and at Broom Orchard in Carlinville, Ill.
Zumba for ALS: Head to a two-hour Zumba fitness class at Fitness Fuzion in O'Fallon from 1 to 3 p.m. Sat. Sept. 28 to benefit MDA’s Augie’s Quest.
