A Warning System, My Way

I don't know about you, but personally, I'm tired of running downstairs every time I hear the storm sirens sounding, usually when the threat of severe weather is miles away.
Because of the sheer size of Saint Charles County (561 square miles), and the unpredictable nature of storms, sirens go off by my house in north St. Charles when the threat of severe weather is a 50-minute car ride away in Augusta (a grueling 8-hour round trip on bike, which nearly killed this fat old man one hot summer afternoon).
Enough, I say!  We need a system that warns me when severe weather is in my county, but not near my city or town.  Maybe they could pump out some really loud Sinatra, and that would be a signal that severe storms are near, but I"m not in any immediate danger.
You're grilling in the back yard when all of a sudden you hear "Fly Me to the Moon."  The Lil Missus opens the patio door.
"Honey, you better get inside!"
"It's okay, dear, it's just Sinatra at this point...Let me see what spring is like...on Jupiter and Marssss..."
It's an idea.
