Citizens for Modern Transit Elects New Board Member

Grossenbacher joins the transit advocacy organization's Board of Directors

The region’s transit advocacy organization, Citizens for Modern Transit, today announced it has elected Mark Grossenbacher, professional engineer and St. Charles resident, as the newest member of its Board of Directors. Grossenbacher is the St. Louis Practice Leader of the HNTB Corporation, a nationally recognized transportation/transit engineering design firm headquartered in Kansas City, Mo. He will serve a three-year term.

Grossenbacher has more than 35 years of experience providing civil engineering and project management services for the design and construction of highway, interchange, bridge and transit projects in Missouri, Illinois and Virginia. He is credited with coordinating high-profile roadway, interchange, bridge and transit projects with construction costs exceeding $800 million for the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT), the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), the Richmond Metropolitan Transportation Authority (RMTA), Metro – St. Louis and the East-West Gateway Council of Governments.

“We are pleased to welcome Mark to our diverse team of local leaders,” said Kimbery Cella, executive director of Citizens for Modern Transit. “His background and expertise will go a long way towards helping to further our efforts to ensure safe, reliable and affordable access to transit.”
