Man Slashed Girlfriend's Wrists, Punched Her in Face, Police Say
St. Charles Police said the couple have nine police reports involving domestic assaults.

A St. Charles man cut his girlfriend's wrists with a razor and punched her in the face Saturday, police said.
St. Charles Police said David Heitmann, 28, of the first block of Pembrook Drive in St. Charles, was drunk when he became enraged for an unknown reason. He punched his girlfriend in the face several times, causing severe bruising and swelling to her face, police said.
During the assault, Heitmann retrieved an eyebrow razor and cut the woman's right and left wrists, according to the police report.

Heitmann was charged Monday with two counts of third-degree domestic assault.
St. Charles Police said there have been nine prior police reports involving domestic disturbances between Heitmann and his girlfriend.

“Both acknowledge there are relationship problems and drinking problems, but neither will get help,” police said in a court document.
Heitmann was being held in St. Charles County jail on Tuesday. Bond was set at $20,000, cash only, and he is to have no contact with his girlfriend.
