St. Charles Man Fatally Stabbed Man In Car With His Ex: Police

Twenty-seven-year-old Nicholas Oliver has been charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action.

BEL-RIDGE, MO — Prosecutors say 27-year-old Nicholas Oliver, of St. Charles, fatally stabbed a man in north St. Louis County early Sunday morning after finding him in a car with his ex-girlfriend.

The incident happened shortly before 5 a.m. in the 4000 block of Belfore Drive in the municipality of Bel-Ridge. Thirty-six-year-old Lewis Trendley, of St. Peters, was taken to a hospital where he later died.

Prosecutors say Oliver opened the car door to confront Trendley and stabbed him multiple times during a resulting argument.

Oliver is charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action. He is held on $250,000 cash-only bond and has several other assault, weapons and drug charges on his record.
