Towers, Malone Win St. Charles School Board; Incumbents Win Francis Howell
Voters pick one incumbent and one newcomer to St. Charles School Board; voters in Francis Howell keep on the incumbents.
St. Charles School Board incumbent Donna Towers has been re-elected for another three-year term. This will be Towers' fourth term on the board.
Incumbent Mike Throne, however, has lost his seat on the school board to newcomer Marita Malone.
Malone, who is an adjunct instructor at Saint Louis University, has a Ph.D. in Public Administration and a Master's in Business Administration.

Six candidates were running for two seats on the St. Charles School District Board of Directors. Ron Aldred, Sylvia Garzia, Howard Faith, and Marita Malone challenged the incumbents. Here is how the voting broke down:
- Donna Towers, 2025 votes
- Marita Malone, 1564 votes
- Mike Thorne, 1498 votes
- Ron Alfred, 1078 votes
- Howard W. Faith, 908 votes
- Sylvia Garzia, 803 votes
In her Patch candidate profile, Towers said, “I'm proud of the work that our Board has accomplished.  I want to continue our preschool program knowing the good impact it will have for the students of St. Charles.  I'm hoping our emphasis on smaller class sizes can be maintained given the continued lack of funding from the state."

Francis Howell School District
The Francis Howell Board of Education will have two familiar faces for the next meeting.
Tuesday's municipal election saw voters living in the Francis Howell District deciding between four people vying for two seats. In the end, voters chose the two incumbents. Amy McEvoy (4,127 votes, 36.82 percent) and Cynthia Bice (3,391 votes, 30.26 percent) defeated to Tony Yakich (1,837 votes, 16.39 percent) and Robert Faltisek (1,788 votes, 15.95 percent) to stay on the board.Â
McEvoy and Bice were both elected to the board in 2010 and will now serve another three-year term on the board of education. Bice currently serves as vice president of the board and McEvoy isÂ
