Why are you running for election?
I am running for re-election because I love the City of St. Charles and have built great relationships with the residents and local business leaders. I enjoy the stewardship of serving the residents and have been humbled by their continued support.
What is the biggest issue facing St. Charles?
One of my biggest concerns facing St Charles is maintaining and improving our infrastructure. This is an ongoing process as residents have a daily need for commuting to and from work and around town.Â
In what areas does St. Charles need to improve?
I feel one area that the community of St. Charles needs to work on is a reduction on its environmental impact. This can be a collaborative effort between the residents, businesses and the City of St. Charles. The city needs to encourage the community through active demonstrations and promotional sustainability programs.
What will you do to help attract small business and retail to St. Charles?Â
I will work with our Economic Development team in order to attract businesses that can become an integral part of the distinctive character of St. Charles. St. Charles is very fortunate and unique with our historic districts and commercial districts. We have a very good blend of shopping opportunities made up of local and regional business owners. These businesses provide opportunities for local jobs and purchases. Think local first & buy local when you can.
What will you to do to maintain quality of life for St. Charles residents?
Encourage local prosperity by listening to local business leaders, community groups and residents and encourage conducting business on a local level. Businesses and residents are more likely to invest and settle in St. Charles because of our distinctive character and unique opportunities.
What's one thing you'd like to accomplish this year?Â
I want to continue to encourage investment in the community and make more efficient use of public services.
