Year first elected: 2004

Background:

I spent 11 years on the St. Charles Board of Education and have spent the past 9 years on the St. Charles City Council.  I have over 35 years of working with Business and Industry as a training consultant and project manager.

Why are you running for reelection?

I believe that I do a good job for the citizens in Ward 6.  I enjoy the many different challenges that we face in our jobs.  I also believe that with my background and experience I bring a lot of different ideas and methods to help our city maintain the quality of life as we know it now.

In what areas does St. Charles need to improve?

We need to start now reducing the amount of gaming money that we spend on projects and staff every year and concentrate on getting the funds to go into capital projects.

What will you do to help attract small business and retail to St. Charles?

When a small business decides to come or is planning on coming, I will work with the different departments to help the business be successful in establishing their operation in St. Charles. Working in the business and industry world, I will continue to research and help in any way I can to make the move to St. Charles as easy as possible for the new company.

What will you to do to maintain quality of life for St. Charles residents?

We work all the time to improve our city in many ways. We will continue to strive to have a well-balanced budget. We will also work hard to maintain a great police and fire department.

What's one thing you'd like to accomplish this year?

I can't do just one.  I want us to complete the new firehouse. I want us to complete the new Public Works facility. I want to see the new bridge in place and open next year. Finally, I want us to be able to maintain the quality of life in our city.
