Years in St. Charles: I was born and raised in St. Charles and attended Francis Howell High School.

Background:

I was appointed to the city council in Jan, 2013. Prior to that I was on the Board of Public Works for 15 years, appointed by Mayor Bob Moeller.
I am also president of my homeowners association, and president of my Union, Local 11-6 Gas Workers.

These two positions along with my years on the Board of Public works has shown me the importance of being able to communicate my ideas and listen to both sides to be able to  resolve any issue. Also, my job allows me to go into other municipalities in St. Charles County and see what those cities are doing, what's working and what isn't. I believe that  is very helpful when deciding the city's direction.

Why are you running for election?

I am running for councilman because I like being involved, and feel I can be helpful to the city and to the residents of Ward 8.

What is the biggest issue facing St. Charles?

I think it is important for the city to become less dependent on gaming revenue for day to day operations.

In what areas does St. Charles need to improve?

No response given.

What will you do to help attract small business and retail to St. Charles?

I also believe that for the city to be able to attract new business and increase tax base, the city's infrastructure must always be maintained.  We need to be sure our streets and our neighborhoods are in good repair. I will  work closely with economic development to promote the city and bring in new business.

What will you to do to maintain quality of life for St. Charles residents?

No response given.

What's one thing you'd like to accomplish this year?

If there is one thing I would like to do, it would be to get more businesses, big and small, to commit to opening/developing their business in the Fountain Lakes/370 corridor. Also, we need to make to entrances to our city appealing so that businesses will want to locate in St. Charles.
