We "Planted it Pink" by Fleur de Lis Garden Society

Here is our planter we donated to BJC Progress West Hospital in O'Fallon, Mo. with our Summer design of Coleus and Dianthus.

The drought has lingered longer than ever before, the winds are hurricane force but that didn't discourage the Fleur de Lis Garden Society members. The Fleur de Lis Garden Society refreshed the “Plant it Pink” planter with a summer design. The planter can be seen by passersby outside the cafeteria and from Hwy 40.

To provide encouragement and a note of cheer to women dealing with breast cancer, the “Plant it Pink” project was initiated in 2009 by the National Garden Clubs, Inc. president, Renee Blaschke, of which Fleur de Lis Garden Society is a member. Club members keep the planter, “in the pink” by planting new designs appropriate for each season.

The Fleur de Lis Garden Society holds monthly meetings and also meets for additional programs, trips and projects. Drop-ins and new members are welcome. For more information, visit their website at www.fleurdelisgardensociety.org
