Abortion Rights Advocates Rally In St. Louis: Photos
Missouri Gov. Mike Parson is on the verge of signing one of the most restrictive anti-abortion bills in the country.
ST. LOUIS, MO — Hundreds rallied on the steps of the Old Courthouse in downtown St. Louis Tuesday afternoon to call on Missouri Gov. Mike Parson to veto an anti-abortion bill currently on his desk. The so-called heartbeat bill, crafted to trigger a Supreme Court challenge and pave the way to overturn Roe v. Wade, cleared the Missouri General Assembly last week. It would ban all abortions in the state after 8 weeks, with no exceptions for rape or incest, making it one of the most extreme anti-abortion measures in the country.
Organized by Naral Pro-Choice Missouri, the ACLU of Missouri, Planned Parenthood Advocates in Missouri and others, the rally was part of a national day of action protesting a slew of such bills across the country.
