WRIGHT CITY, MO — The Wright City School District, located west of St. Charles, was placed on lockdown Wednesday morning after police said they received a tip two male students were planning to carry out a shooting. The tip involved a suspicious SnapChat post, officials said, but didn't give further details.
Two students are currently in custody and the lockdown has been lifted after police secured the district's schools as a precaution.
The scare comes as students across the country are walking out of class to protest gun violence on the one month anniversary of the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.
