Explore St. Louis Encourages Locals, Tourists To Meet Outdoors

New "Meet Me Outdoors in St. Louis" campaign, module opens the door for recreation fun

Explore St. Louis has launched a new “Meet Me Outdoors in St. Louis” campaign, a dedicated online module designed to inform locals and tourists about the many outdoor recreation experiences available in the St. Louis region.

“Because St. Louis has so many wonderful parks and other outdoor attractions, we have partnered with various groups and organizations to launch this new campaign to create more awareness about our growing reputation as a great outdoor recreation destination,” said Kathleen “Kitty” Ratcliffe, President of Explore St. Louis. “And our new “Meet Me Outdoors in St. Louis” module will be a valuable resource in helping outdoor enthusiasts plan their outdoor vacations and adventures.”

Found on the outdoor adventures tab of explorestlouis.com, the “Meet Me Outdoors in St. Louis” module is easy to navigate and is filled with content about area parks, rivers, and the growing system of greenways for bicycling, walking, running and hiking. The module is conveniently organized into five clickable categories: I-44 Corridor, Confluence Corridor, Parks, Rivers and Trails.

The centerpiece of “Meet Me Outdoors in St. Louis” is a short, captivating video https://youtu.be/wljjOqjsans that showcases the region’s plethora of parks and other outdoor places as well as the three major rivers in the St. Louis area. In addition, the web page features an array of colorful and interesting outdoor images to entice outdoor lovers.

Over the past few years, St. Louis’ reputation as an outdoor destination has grown nationally. St. Louis hosted the National Recreation and Parks Association meeting in 2016, and has recently been ranked high by national media outlets for its outdoor recreation and top-tier parks. St. Louis ranked a sixth best among 100 cities on WalletHub’s 2016 Best and Worst Cities for Recreation while Forest Park was ranked No. 1 as Best City Park in USA Today’s 10 best list (chosen by readers), beating out New York’s Central Park and Chicago’s Grant Park.
