Herzog Elementary Teacher Accused Of Hitting Student

The school says it is cooperating with police. The teacher has been placed on leave.

ST. LOUIS, MO — A teacher at Herzog Elementary School in North St. Louis has been arrested after police say the teacher hit a student Wednesday, the Post-Dispatch reports. It doesn't appear the teacher has yet been charged, and the teacher's name was not released.

School officials said the district is cooperating with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, and that the teacher has been placed on leave pending "a thorough investigation in accordance with our policies and procedures."
