'Jammin' At The Zoo' Concert Series: July 25 and Aug. 22

The 21-and-up only event will be held rain or shine, zoo officials say, and features more than 65 wines and local beers.

ST. LOUIS, MO — The Saint Louis Zoo will hold a "Sippin' Safari" from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. July 25 and August 22 featuring live music and a wine and beer tasting with more than 65 wines and beers from local microbreweries. The 21-and-up event is part of the Jammin' at the Zoo summer concert series. Proceeds from both events will benefit the zoo and its efforts to save endangered species at home and around the world, the zoo said in a news release.

Bands include Dr. Zhivegas and Musicology on July 25 and Dirty Muggs and Johnny Henry on August 22.

Admission includes wine and beer sampling from 6 to 8 p.m., while supplies last. Wine by the glass and bottle, beer, soda and specialty drinks will also be available for purchase. Food will be available for purchase at a variety of food trucks and zoo venues. No outside alcoholic beverages are permitted at these events; however, guests may bring their own food.

From 6 to 8 p.m., visitors can also get up close with stingrays and sharks at Stingrays at Caribbean Cove or take a spin on the Mary Ann Lee Conservation Carousel. Both attractions are free.

Admission to Jammin’ at the Zoo is $12.95 for Zoo members or $22.95 for non-members. Buy tickets at the door or online at stlzoo.org/jammin. Free parking is available on the Zoo’s north and south lots. Jammin’ at the Zoo is a 21-and-up only event and held rain or shine, except for severe storms.
