Photoshop Fail Gives Family Freaky Faces — And They Love It
A St. Louis family wanted a beautiful family portrait. What they got instead makes them look like robots, but they're not seeking a refund.

ST. LOUIS, MO — Pam and Dave Zaring thought they would have a nice family photo to share with their friends and family. Instead, the St. Louis family got a set of photos that are either hilarious or terrifying. At best, they look like robots or avatars, and the internet loves the Photoshop fail.
The photographer they had hired for $250 told the Zarings the bright sun on the day of the photo shoot cast shadows on their faces and her photography instructor had never taught her proper retouching techniques.
The Zearings have a good sense of humor about it, though, posting the photos on Facebook and inviting people to “feel free to share.” Facebook users complied, sharing the photos hundreds of thousands of times.

Dave Zaring wrote on Facebook that he had “not laughed this hard in YEARS.”
“You can’t make this stuff up,” he wrote. “Again, this is NOT a joke — final product.”

The Zarings weren’t always laughing.
“I passed my furious mark months ago when she wouldn't send us anything,” Pam Zaring told WDVD-TV. “I was fully prepared to be scammed, money gone, and no final product! So the humor was much easier to find. Trust me, at one point my blood boiled anytime I was asked about the status of our photos!”
When the Zarings received the photos, they asked the photographer what was going on with their cartoon-like faces, “Inside Edition” reported.
“I asked her if we also looked like cartoon characters on her end and she did say that we do," Pam Zaring said. "She just really struggled with the lighting and the shadows.”
The Zarings aren’t asking for their money back, and Pam Zaring told WDVD that she didn’t post them to be “vicious,” but to give people a hearty laugh.
“I hope y’all have laughed as hard as we have,” she said.
