Registration Open For Annual 'Make Tracks Through The Zoo' Run

Runners will get to run through some of the zoo's most popular exhibit.

ST. LOUIS, MO — Registration is open for the 33rd annual Make Tracks Through the Zoo, a charity run that features a new course through Forest Park and the St. Louis Zoo, including past some of the Zoo's most popular exhibits. Runners will see the antelope and giraffe habitats, as well as the Zoo's new Grizzly Ridge exhibit.

Proceeds from the run will support the St. Louis Zoo, one of the only free zoos in the country.

The run will be held May 20. A competitive 5K race begins at 7 a.m., followed by a series of untimed and kids runs, with award ceremonies scheduled for 9 a.m. at the Zoo's Anheuser-Busch Theater.

No dogs, rollerblades, skates or skateboards will be permitted on the course, but strollers are welcome.

And, for anyone not wanting to get up at the crack of dawn on a Sunday morning, the zoo is offering a new virtual run. "You can run or jog, and you can walk on the road, trail, treadmill, track, at the gym or even at another race," the zoo says. "You get to run your own race, at your own pace, and time it yourself. Your registration fee will still support the Saint Louis Zoo; we will mail your shirt and finisher’s ribbon to you."
