STL Home Watch Services of St. Louis earns accreditation
Second-year accreditation from the National Home Watch Association
ST. LOUIS, MO—STL Home Watch Services has earned accreditation from the
National Home Watch Association for the second year. The NHWA was formed in 2009 in order to establish and maintain the highest industry standards for Home Watch and absentee homeowner services throughout the United States and Canada (www.nationalhomewatchassociation.org).
Home Watch is a visual inspection of a home or property, looking for obvious issues, which means that it is a service that “keeps an eye on things” at your vacation or primary home while you are not in residence.Owners Joy and John Lapicki got the idea of performing Home Watch and concierge services when Joy, a West County Realtor and St. Louis area native, had observed that other real estate agents needed assistance with homes that were left vacant and falling into disrepair. Realizing that there was not a Home Watch company in the area, they created STL Home Watch Services to fill this void.

STL Home Watch Services not only helps get properties in order before they are put on the market; they also work with traveling homeowners, investors, and owners who rent on sites such as VRBO and Airbnb. Snowbirds have peace of mind that their home is being cared for. Joy and John provide customized service for each homeowner’s individual needs, enabling them to enjoy their time away. They know that unoccupied properties are more vulnerable to miscreant behavior, and that small issues can become major ones if not promptly detected. If they discover an issue, they keep the homeowner apprised and can help arrange for any necessary repairs. STL Home Watch Services also provides homecoming services, such as light housecleaning, restocking clients’ refrigerators, and anything that relieves the stress of returning after a long time away.
Joy and John have both earned the designation of Certified Home Watch Professional, putting them in the class of elite Home Watch providers. The CHWP designation shows their commitment to providing excellent service to their clients. Joy also sits on the NHWA’s Marketing Committee and is the Chapter Lead for the NHWA North Central Chapter.
