Tishaura Jones Elected As St. Louis' Next Mayor
City Comptroller Darlene Green said Jones has been a strong leader throughout her career.
April 6, 2021
Congratulations to our next mayor, Tishaura Jones. Throughout her career, Tishaura has been a strong leader with a deep personal commitment to the people of St. Louis. St. Louis has many challenges and I look forward to working with Mayor-elect Jones on tackling them so that St. Louis can become the thriving, equitable city we all deserve.

I also want to compliment her opponent in the mayor's race, Alderwoman Cara Spencer. Alderwoman Spencer has been a strong leader for reinvigorating the 20th Ward and advocate for protecting public assets—including her efforts during the attempted privatization of St. Louis Lambert International Airport.
And thank you most of all to the voters for coming out and for participating in the most fundamental act in democracy: Making your voice heard. While I did not have an opponent in this election, I never take your support for granted. As Comptroller, I will continue the fight to ensure fiscal responsibility for your tax dollars.
