Tower Grove Under I-44 To Close Until Mid-June

Officials say detours will be marked.

ST. LOUIS, MO — The Missouri Department of Transportation says Tower Grove Ave. will close under the Interstate 44 overpass staring May 15 and will remain closed until at least mid-June due to construction.

Crews will close the roadway under the interstate, between De Tonty and Lafayette, at 9 a.m. Tuesday to construct the new eastbound I-44 bridge over Tower Grove, officials said. The ongoing work will replace bridges at Kingshighway, Thurman and 39th Street and rehabilitate bridges over Vandeventer, Tower Grove and the Union Pacific Railroad tracks.

Detours will be marked.
