Travel Channel's Andrew Zimmern Was Just In St. Louis

Zimmern visited Pappy's Smokehouse, sampling burnt ends, ribs and a "ruthless slaw."

ST. LOUIS, MO — Celebrity chef and Travel Channel host Andrew Zimmern was in St. Louis this week scouting for an upcoming episode of his show Bizarre Foods: Delicious Destinations, according to the Riverfront Times.

Zimmern visited Pappy's Smokehouse on Olive Street, sampling burnt ends, ribs and a "ruthless slaw," according to a Twitter post.

Zimmern also visited Grace Meat + Three, Gioia's Deli, Nudo House and Pastaria, according to the RFT's social media sleuthing.

The last episode of his show to feature St. Louis aired in 2015 and highlighted local classics such as fried ravioli at Charlie Gitto's on the Hill, gooey butter cake at Park Avenue Coffee and St. Louis-style pizza at Cicero's in the Delmar Loop. Cicero's closed in 2017.

Zimmern appeared to say goodbye to St. Louis Friday morning, Tweeting: "Thank you St. Louis. Love this town and love the people even more." Hopefully he'll be back soon to film a new episode.
