May 13, 2021: The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) recently announced a new Emergency Broadband Benefit program. This temporary benefit program will lower the cost of broadband service for eligible households during the on-going COVID-19 pandemic.

The $3.2B Emergency Broadband Benefit program provides a discount of up to $50 per month toward broadband service for eligible households and up to $75 per month for qualifying households. The benefit also provides a discount up to $100 per household  toward a one-time purchase of a computer, laptop, or tablet if the household contributes $10 to $50 toward the purchase through a participating broadband provider.

MUNICIPAL COURT: Judge Fagras signed a notice moving all municipal courts in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit to Operating Phase Four, which is intended to help courts balance the need for continued precautionary measures when interacting with the public and the ability to ease such restrictions among smaller gatherings. BUS TOURS: Out of an abundance of caution, the City of St. Peters decided to cancel the April & May bus tours (Illinois Amish & Historic New Harmony, Ind.). We hope to offer the canceled tours in 2022.

DANCES: In accordance with the current CDC guidelines for social distancing, the City of St. Peters decided not to host a City Centre Dance on March 19, 2021.

BUS TOURS: The Mar. 19 Winston Churchill/Auto World Bus Tour is canceled due to a construction renovation project for the Churchill Museum, which will take until fall 2021.

HOUSING, UTILITY HELP FOR RESIDENTS WITH COVID-19 HARDSHIPS: The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has allocated Community Development Block Grant Coronavirus (CDBG-CV) funds to St. Charles County. Funds are available to assist County residents, including St. Peters residents, experiencing financial hardship due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. The program provides short-term rent, mortgage, and utility assistance to households facing foreclosure or eviction. Food and household items assistance is also available. BUS TOURS: Due to COVID-19 restrictions on restaurants and for the overall health and safety of our participants, we have postponed the following bus tours until 2021:

BUS TOURS: The Oct. 13 Touchstones to Our Past Bus Tour is postponed to October 2021 due to local restrictions on gatherings at the tour's lunch destination (Bissell Mansion).

ARTS CENTRE EVENT CANCELLATIONS: In order to help slow the spread of COVID-19, we have canceled some upcoming Cultural Arts Centre events, including the remainder of our dances. The following 2020 events are canceled:

RENTAL EVENTS AND MEETINGS: Rental events and meetings have resumed in the banquet rooms under social distancing guidelines.

EVENT CANCELLATIONS: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of St. Peters has cancelled a number of events that we normally host on an annual basis. With public health experts warning against unnecessary social interaction, we have erred on the side of caution. Here is a list of upcoming events that were recently cancelled :

*SPTV will air a special virtual event for both the Veterans Day Ceremony on Nov. 11 and the St. Peters Tree Lighting.

REC-PLEX TRIATHLON: The St. Peters Rec-Plex has cancelled the 2020 Rookies & Rock Stars Triathlon due to COVID-19 concerns/low registration numbers.

HALLOWEEN CARNIVAL: The City of St. Peters has cancelled this year's Halloween Carnival due to concerns over the ability to maintain proper social distancing.

BUS TOURS: The St. Louis Highlights Bus Tour has been postponed due to the ongoing concern of COVID-19 in St. Louis City and County. The trip will be rescheduled for August 2021. 

SENIOR ADVISORY COMMITTEE: The Senior Advisory Committee meeting scheduled for July 16 has been canceled.

REC-PLEX: Phase 2 of the Rec-Plex reopening is set to begin Monday, July 6. During this next phase, the Rec-Plex will expand its Members Only Fitness Room hours, add ice programs, and offer Members Only group fitness classes and Pickleball. CLICK HERE to learn more and download a Phase 2 schedule.

BASKETBALL COURTS: All basketball hoops are back up for use on courts in City of St. Peters parks.

OUTDOOR POOL AVAILABILITY: St. Peters residents can enjoy discount rates at St. Charles outdoor aquatic facilities. For the last 10 years, the City of St. Peters and City of St. Charles have provided discount rates for recreational facilities to each other’s residents. This means that while St. Peters pools are closed for this summer, you can enjoy St. Charles resident rates at the St. Charles aquatic centers. Click here to learn more ...

PARK PLAYGROUNDS: The City of St. Peters plans to reopen park playgrounds. The process to reopen playgrounds will begin next week following the expiration of the statewide order regarding COVID-19. Click here to learn more ...

REC-PLEX: The St. Peters Rec-Plex will reopen its Fitness Rooms on June 15 to Members Only. Click here to read the reopening plan.

CITY HALL: St. Peters City Hall will reopen its west wing to the public on Monday, June 1, 2020, with social distancing guidelines. The City of St. Peters plans to open other portions of City Hall to the public in phases over the next month. Many facets of City business are available remotely through online services or by phone. ATHLETIC FIELD RENTALS: City of St. Peters athletic field rentals will reopen in June for several sports with additional requirements to meet social distancing and sanitation guidelines. Permits will be issued beginning June 1 for practices only for these sports: baseball, BMX, kickball, soccer, and softball. Permits for those same sports will be issued for games beginning June 15. MUNICIPAL COURT: Effective June 1, 2020, St. Peters Municipal Court will require masks/face coverings, social distancing, temperature checks, and other restrictions due to COVID-19. CLICK HERE to learn more.

PARK PAVILION RESERVATIONS: Park pavilions in St. Peters will reopen June 1, 2020, with lower maximum capacity limits and additional guidelines regarding social distancing and sanitation. The St. Peters Parks Department will accept online reservations only for pavilions beginning May 26 at 9 a.m. Walk-in and phone reservations are not available at this time. CLICK HERE to learn more.

MAYOR TOM BROWN SENIOR CENTER: The St. Peters Senior Center remains closed to in-person services and activities. Aging Ahead has not made decisions regarding its plans for reopening the Senior Center. Meal service is available through pick-up for congregate participants. Senior Center staff continues to make weekly deliveries to Meals on Wheels clients. Call 636-278-2410 for more information about Senior Center meal services. If you are a senior in

MUNICIPAL COURT: St. Peters Municipal Court offices are scheduled to reopen May 18, 2020. The next available court docket in St. Peters Municipal Court will be June 2, 2020.

POLICE RECORDS
DIVISION: The St. Peters Police Records Division’s public
window at the St. Peters Justice Center will reopen on May 18, 2020. The office remains staffed in the meantime. Click here for contact information.

SUMMER CAMPS: After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to cancel St. Peters Summer Camps for the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The nature of these camps does not make it possible to effectively meet social distancing guidelines. Our priority will always be the safety of our staff and guests. We appreciate the fact that this decision will present a difficult situation for a number of families. We ask for your understanding as we continue to make tough choices during this pandemic.

BUS TOURS: The Cultural Arts Centre has announced the following changes to its 2020 schedule of motorcoach bus tours:

WATER'S EDGE BANQUET CENTER: All events scheduled at Water's Edge
Banquet Center through May 31  have been rescheduled to a later date.
Private tours of the facility have resumed with some restrictions.

CELEBRATE ST. PETERS: We are sorry to have to announce that due to the COVID-19 public health emergency, we are unable to bring you the Celebrate St. Peters festival in 2020. Instead, we are making plans for next year's Celebrate St. Peters event, scheduled for Sept. 17 and 18, 2021, at 370 Lakeside Park.

SUNSET FRIDAYS: We’re social distancing during a pandemic, so we won’t be able to get together at 370 Lakeside Park in 2020, but the show still goes on! The City of St. Peters and SPTV St. Peters TeleVision have found a way to bring Sunset Fridays “On the Road” to you: Join us when 2020 Sunset Fridays “On the Road” to You begin at 6:30 p.m. May 15 with Wade Trent! MEMORIAL DAY CEREMONY: The annual St. Peters Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony that was scheduled for Monday, May 25, 2020, at the Veterans Memorial at St. Peters City Hall has been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. SPTV, our St. Peters TeleVision channel, will air a special at 10 a.m. on May 25 to honor American soldiers who gave their lives defending our country. The special will show scenes from past Memorial Day ceremonies hosted by our Veterans Memorial Commission. Visit www.sptvnow.net to watch SPTV live or on-demand.

OPERATING ABOVE THE STANDARD (OATS): OATS is re-opening for public
transportation services beginning Wednesday, May 20, 2020. OATS says
that it will be operating initially with a limited schedule. Trips will
only be scheduled on Wednesdays and Thursdays; and will be limited to
medical appointments and essential shopping needs. You may begin to
request trips by contacting OATS at their regular number 1-314-888-6720.
Select “Option 1” to speak with a scheduler. OATS transit is also
encouraging their riders to wear face coverings to help prevent the spread of coronavirus. This request is consistent with federal, state, and local executive orders and guidelines. Please follow these
guidelines to protect the safety and well-being of you and their
drivers.

OUTDOOR POOLS: The 2020 outdoor pool season has been canceled in St. Peters. The Cove at St. Peters and Laurel Park Pool will not open to guests this summer.

SPRING ICE SHOW: The Spring Ice Show originally scheduled for May 15-17 at the St. Peters Rec-Plex has been postponed. New dates have yet to be determined.

RECYCLE CITY: Trash drop-off has reopened to the public at St. Peters Recycle City for CREDIT/DEBIT CARD PAYMENTS ONLY.*

EARTH CENTRE YARD WASTE DISPOSAL: Yard waste drop-off has reopened to the public at Earth Centre. We are accepting CREDIT/DEBIT CARD PAYMENTS ONLY.*

FAMILY FUN DAY: The St. Peters Police Family Fun Day scheduled for June 6, 2020, at 370 Lakeside Park has been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This annual event hosted by St. Peters police includes a Fishing Derby, Kite Festival, and more free fun along the lake at 370 Lakeside Park.

SHRED IT AND FORGET IT EVENT: The City of St. Peters’ Shred It and Forget It event scheduled for May 2, 2020, has been canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. Another Shred-It event is scheduled this fall on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2020, from 9 a.m.-noon, at the HES Operations Building, 135 Ecology Dr.

CULTURAL ARTS CENTRE: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the upcoming art show, “Flower Power,” will be rescheduled as part of the 2021 art show schedule at the Cultural Arts Centre. Flower Power was scheduled to be on display from April 30-June 21 at the Cultural Arts Centre, which is closed until further notice. ST. PETERS GOLF
CLUB: St. Peters Golf Club operations will be closed through
April 24, 2020. (As previously announced, Water’s Edge Banquet
Center at St. Peters Golf Club is closed through at least May 10.)

TRIATHLON: The St. Peters Rec-Plex has postponed the Rookies and Rock Stars Triathlon. Originally planned for May 3, the new date for the event is Sept. 27, 2020.

VOLUNTEER BREAKFAST: The annual Volunteer Breakfast, scheduled for Friday, April 24, 2020, at the Cultural Arts Centre, has been postponed indefinitely.

SOLID WASTE: Effective Monday, March 30, 2020, for trash disposal, the City will only be accepting payments by Visa, Mastercard, and Discover – no cash or checks – until further notice.

MUNICIPAL COURT OFFICES: St. Peters Municipal Court offices at the St. Peters Justice Center are now closed to the public
through April 17, 2020. Office staff is still available to contact by phone at 636-279-8280. Several online forms and services are also available online at www.stpetersmo.net/st-peters-municipal-court.aspx.

All
cases in St. Peters Municipal Court were previously postponed through
April 17, 2020, as ordered by the Supreme Court of Missouri. April 7 and
April 14 dockets will be rescheduled.

POLICE RECORDS DIVISION: The St. Peters Police Records Division’s public
window at the St. Peters Justice Center is closed through April 17, 2020. The office remains staffed. You may request a police record by contacting the Police Records Division at 636-477-6600, ext. 3525.

MAYOR
TOM BROWN SENIOR CENTER: The State of Missouri has required a
number of changes through April 22, 2020, at the Mayor Tom Brown
Senior Center in St. Peters for the safety of seniors, staff and
volunteers:

370 LAKESIDE PARK: 370 Lakeside Park remains open to the public with some changes. The RV check-in station is locked and nobody from the general public is allowed inside the building. Telephone calls are being answered and inquiries can be made by calling 636-387-5253. All rental equipment operations are suspended. The trails and lake are open for use from sunrise to sunset. Everyone should observe social distancing and maintain 6 feet of separation from other people to limit the spread of COVID-19. The Rotary Club Dog Park is open from sunrise to sunset every day. All dog park members must observe social distancing. Applications for new dog park members are not being accepted at this time.

ST. PETERS CITY HALL CLOSED TO PUBLIC: Effective immediately, St. Peters City Hall will close to the public until further notice because of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.

PARKS PLAYGROUNDS: Playground equipment in City of St. Peters' parks is closed to the public to aid in the effort to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Our parks and trails remain open. Please do not use the playground equipment, and use social distancing (stay 6 feet away from other people) when visiting any of our 26 parks or when using our 26 miles of paved trails. SOLID WASTE: All additional solid waste services, such as bulky pickups, appliance pickups, and routine trash calls, can still be made via phone or email. Call 636-970-1456, Option 1, CLICK HERE or visit www.stpetersmo.net.

ANIMAL CONTROL: Animal Control services normally provided at Recycle City, such as loaning live traps and bark collars, can be requested by calling Animal Control at 636-278-2255.

NITROGEN TIRE-FILLING STATION: The St. Peters Nitrogen Tire-Filling Station, which had been scheduled to open for residents on Wednesday, April 1, will not open until at least Friday, May 1.

PLANNING AND ZONING MEETING:
The City of St. Peters' Planning & Zoning Commission meeting scheduled for Wednesday, April 1, at the Justice Center has been canceled due to restrictions on large public gatherings and concerns that not everyone who wants to provide public input for the applications submitted will be able to participate. Applications will be moved to the May 6 Planning & Zoning Commission meeting.

BUS TOUR RESCHEDULED: The Illinois Amish: Quilt Fest and More bus tour, scheduled for Saturday, April 25, has been rescheduled for Thursday, Aug. 20.

UTILITY
FRANCHISE TAX REFUNDS: The City of St. Peters is making some changes to the
annual Utility Franchise Tax refund distribution as we continue to address the
challenges from the COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation, the recommendations from
health care professionals and the current Emergency Declarations from local and
state officials. We are doing this to minimize the number of residents who need
to visit City Hall. We want to keep everyone safe and healthy, including our
