Man Stole BMW From St. Peters Car Dealer, Police Say

St. Louis city police officers said they found Armond Beckwith-Bell sitting in the stolen car's driver seat.

A man is accused of stealing a BMW from Pappas Toyota in St. Peters June 8.

Armond Beckwith-Bell, 23, of the 4800 block of Anderson Avenue in St. Louis, was charged July 9 with stealing a motor vehicle.

St. Peters Police reported that St. Louis Metropolitan Police found Beckwith-Bell sitting in the driver’s seat of a 2011 BMW July 7. The car was reported stolen from Pappas Toyota on June 8.

A witness at Pappas Toyota identified Beckwith-Bell, who denied stealing the vehicle. Beckwith-Bell said it was stolen by a person he know only as Joey B.

A stolen handgun was found underneath the car seat.

Beckwith-Bell was released on his own recognizance on Tuesday.
