St. Peters Advises Residents to NOT Paint Address Numbers on Curbs
Numbers painted on the curb can be blocked by vehicles and other obstacles, including snow and ice in the winter.

The city of St. Peters wants residents to know they don't need address numbers to be painting on curbs.
According to city staff, some resident have recently encountered solicitors are selling a service to paint address numbers on curbs. Because of these solicitors, the city wants residents to know it does not recommend nor endorse painting address numbers on curbs in front of homes. The solicitors are unaffiliated with the city.
While the curb is not a place to put address numbers, the city does want residents to know that emergency agencies prefer that address numbers be placed on the front of the home near the front door or above a garage door that is visible from the street. Numbers painted on the curb can be blocked by vehicles and other obstacles, including snow and ice in the winter.
