The Weekend: Lego Play Day, Nutcracker Auditions

The annual Festival of the Little Hills is the biggest event happening in St. Charles County this weekend. (See the full schedule of events here). But if you're looking for something different to do, here are five other options:

• McLovin performs at Bottleneck Blues Bar at Ameristar in St. Charles on Friday. $5 cover. Must be 21 and older. See more here.
• The Family Vision will host a Lego play day on Friday Aug. 16. Children 10 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. See more here. 
• Pets A-Lone Sanctuary will host an adoption day at Petsmart in St. Charles on Saturday and Sunday at 9 a.m. See more here.
• Dardenne Presbyterian Church will host an opportunity Fair from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18. See more here. 
• The Missouri Ballet Theater will hold auditions for youth roles in the Nutcracker ballet on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at St. Peters Cultural Arts Centre. Learn more here.
