
Fred G. Heimburger, owner of the former Heimburger's Bakery in Concord Village, died this week in his Sunset Hills homes, St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. The 83-year-old grew up in Sappington and graduated from Kirkwood High School, according to the report.
Heimburger was best known for his gooey butter cake, a recipe he managed to share with the Junior League of St. Louis. But he also conducted presidential polls through his bread sales, according to the Post-Dispatch report.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. on Friday at Kutis Affton Chapel, 10151 Gravois Rd., with funeral visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, according to his obituary.
