Man Arrested After Standoff in Sunset Hills

A police tactical team entered the home in the 10,000 block of Kennerly Rd. shortly after 2 a.m. Friday and took the man into custody, according to an article on stltoday.com

A standoff at a home in the 10,000 block of Kennerly Rd. that began Thursday afternoon ended shortly after 2 a.m. with an arrest.

Our partners at Fox 2 reported that Sunset Hills police requested a St. Louis County Swat team at the home shortly before 4 p.m. on Thursday

Sunset Hills police went to the home to serve the man a court order of protection, according to an article on stltoday.com. The man refused to accept it and barricaded himself in the house.

Shortly after 2 a.m. on Friday, tactical officers entered the home and arrested the man, stltoday.com reports. His name has not being released.

A spokesman with the St. Louis County Police Department told Patch the case was being handled by Sunset Hills police.

Update 12 p.m., April 5: According to a statement from the Sunset Hills Police Department, the man ran from police when they tried to serve him with the order, and he threatened to harm others. He then barricaded himself in the house, according to the statement. After exhausting all efforts to get the man to surrender, police forced entry into the house. No injuries were reported. Charges are pending.
