“I’ve always been a South County guy,” says David J. Gregory, an attorney and conservative Republican candidate for Missouri state representative in St. Louis County’s District 96.

Tall, dark-haired and physically fit, Gregory, age 30, grew up in neighborhoods near Telegraph Road, Concord School Road and Keller Road with his Mom, Dad and twin brother Daniel.

While attending Saint Catherine Laboure School from kindergarten through 8th grade, “I played every sport I could,” David says. When not playing baseball, basketball or hockey with school teammates – or studying -- David and his brother Dan shot hoops and shagged fly balls in their back yard.

“I’ve been into sports and fitness all my life because it keeps your body and mind sharp,” David says. “I kept it up at De Smet Jesuit High School and at Saint Louis University where I played on the Billikens Ice Hockey Team – it’s a great release from hours of studying.”

David earned a degree in accounting, a Masters of Business Administration, and a Juris Doctor (JD) from Saint Louis University. Today he is a successful attorney and business owner.

Friendly and outgoing, David knows many people because of his involvement in sports and his church, and with conservative Republican causes. Every week, he serves as a volunteer assistant coach for the St. Louis Amateur Blues AAA youth hockey team. In summer, he coaches The St. Louis Challengers, a baseball league for kids and adults with developmental disabilities. During the devastating floods in South County late in 2015, David worked on sandbagging lines, helping people protect their homes and businesses. He also volunteers at his local church and with Service International.

David was recently elected Vice President of the Tesson Ferry Township Republican Club and member of the club’s Executive Board.

“In recent years I’ve been asked to run for Missouri political office by people who share my love for South County and my conservative political convictions,” David says.

“Missouri voters are sick of elected officials who do little except cultivate lobbyists, special interest groups and big donors and collect a state paycheck until eligible for a government pension,” he says.

“When District 96 State Representative Mike Leara announced that he will not run in 2016 because he will term out, I decided to run for his seat in the legislature.

“Since launching my campaign last summer, I have knocked on more than 2,000 doors in South County to meet people, introduce myself and discover what they want from their Missouri elected officials.

“I learned that South County people want capable Republican legislators who will deliver on their campaign promises. They want committed legislators with the skills necessary to implement effective budgeting and spending strategies, keep taxes low and reduce the size of government. They want conservative Republican officials who honor the values of faith, family and freedom that are so meaningful for people in South County.

“My parents instilled those conservative values in me from a young age, plus commitments to work hard that I honor every day. I want to take those values and dedication to Jefferson City and make a positive difference for people of all ages in South County,” David asserts.

Republican Party leaders in Missouri are endorsing Gregory for his energetic ideas and his ability to fight for conservative values for many years to come. Outgoing 96th District State Representative Mike Leara says, “David Gregory has the energy, skills and youth we need for the future.”

David has been profiled in St. Louis Lawyer Magazine and in other publications for his legal expertise and his extensive community volunteerism -- a hands-on commitment that he maintains every week even though he is a very busy guy.

“I’ve got the energy of youth, good health and passionate commitments to serve the people of South County as their conservative Republican state representative. All this keeps me going as I continue to meet new people of all ages and share my message of faith, family and freedom for Missouri.

“As a volunteer coach, I try to strengthen the spirit of community service within young players and remind them that the paybacks for volunteerism and charitable service in life are priceless,” says David, who also serves as a vacation Bible school mentor for teens at his local church.

David lives in Sunset Hills. His campaign headquarters are in South Country at 9962 Lin Ferry Drive, Suite 203, St. Louis, Missouri, 63123.
