Sunset Hills Says Neighborhood Basketball Hoops Have To Go

The city calls the hoops a nuisance, but homeowners disagree.

SUNSET HILLS, MO — The city of sunset hills is telling one local neighborhood to remove the basketball hoops that line the end of their street, KMOV News 4 reports. Residents of Meadowglen Drive say the hoops give neighborhood kids a safe place to play at end of their dead-end road, and draw young families into the neighborhood, but they city has said they have to come down, calling them a public nuisance in a notice to homeowners.

"I understand there were laws that were written but I always think there's some sort of wiggle room with some of those things because I don't see a nuisance for anybody," homeowner Tom Cochran told News 4. "Because we continue to have young families move on to our dead-end street."
