VanOstran Joins Gray, Ritter & Graham, P.C.

Gray, Ritter & Graham, P.C., a St. Louis plaintiff litigation law firm, has announced that Cort A. VanOstran has joined the firm as an associate attorney.

VanOstran is a 2014 honors graduate of Washington University School of Law in St. Louis. Prior to joining Gray, Ritter & Graham, he served as a law clerk to U.S. District Judge Audrey Fleissig and U.S. District
Judge John Ross in the Eastern District of Missouri. In addition to practicing law, VanOstran serves as a Visiting Lecturer in Law at Washington University.

He is a member of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis and serves on the Missouri Bar Young Lawyers Section Council. Mr. VanOstran has served as faculty and staff for the Missouri Scholars Academy, a
state-sponsored program for gifted high school students. He currently supervises Washington University’s chapter of the Marshall Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project, a community partnership that places law
students in public high schools to teach constitutional law. He was named to the Spring 2016 class of the FOCUS St. Louis Emerging Leaders program.

While in law school, VanOstran served as President of the Student Bar Association and Managing Editor of the Washington University Journal of Law and Policy. He received the Dean’s Leadership Award for his contributions to the law school, as well as an Honor Scholar award for his academic performance. He served as a member of Washington University’s National Moot Court Team and Trial Team.

VanOstran earned his undergraduate degree with honors from Harvard University, where he was involved in the Harvard Institute of Politics and authored a thesis on legislative efficacy. He also worked or interned for
policymakers at all levels of government, and spent a summer as a volunteer in Mamelodi Township, South Africa.

VanOstran was previously an associate at an international products liability and commercial litigation firm based in Kansas City, Mo., where he worked for clients ranging from individuals to Fortune 500 companies. His primary areas of practice with Gray, Ritter & Graham are commercial litigation, class action litigation, and mass torts.
