Manchester Woman Smashed Cocktail Glass on Bartender's Face, Police Say

A Manchester woman is accused of smashing a cocktail glass into a bartender’s face as she was being removed from a bar in Chesterfield. The bartender suffered a broken nose that required a surgery to correct and a large gash that had to be attended to by a plastic surgeon.

Jayne K. Baning, 52, of the 600 block of Chatelet Lane in Manchester, was charged Friday with second-degree assault.

Chesterfield Police said that a bartender at Smitty’s Food and Drink, 14874 Clayton Road, was attempting to remove Baning from the bar Jan. 29. Baning threw a drink in her face and then smashed the glass against the woman’s face.
Bail for Baning was set at $15,000, cash only.
