Westminster Receives Ten Nominations for Musical Theatre Awards

Westminster Christian Academy's spring production of The Wiz received ten nominations for the St. Louis High School Musical Theatre Awards.

Town & Country, Mo. — Westminster Christian Academy’s spring production of The Wiz received ten nominations in nine categories for the St. Louis High School Musical Theatre Awards (SLHSMTA).

Nominations include:

  • Outstanding Production, Budget Level 2
  • Outstanding Actress - Jessica Wilson
  • Outstanding Supporting Actress - Natalie Brown
  • Outstanding Supporting Actor - Mark Geisz, Sean Webb
  • Outstanding Ensemble
  • Outstanding Costume Design and Execution
  • Outstanding Direction
  • Outstanding Musical Direction
  • Outstanding Technical Execution.

In 2017, Westminster’s production of Fiddler on the Roof was named Best Musical for a Level 2 Budget and Natalie Brown won Best Supporting Actress. The second annual awards ceremony will take place on June 10, 2018 at The Fabulous Fox theatre.

The SLHSMTA celebrates outstanding achievement in high school musical theatre. Participating schools will have their productions evaluated by a panel of theatre professionals. The Fabulous Fox, The Muny, and Fox Performing Arts Charitable Foundation are proud sponsors of the SLHSMTA, a regional chapter of the National High School Musical Theatre Awards.
