Westminster Students Named 2018 National Merit Semifinalists
Westminster Christian Academy seniors are honored for academic achievement as Semifinalists in National Merit Scholarship Program.

Six Westminster Christian Academy seniors were recently announced as Semifinalists in the 63rd annual National Merit Scholarship Program.
Seniors Frances Akins, Richard Johnson, Ynseo Lee, Matthew Moore, Hayden Shively, and Daniel Wang were among the academically talented high school students to receive this honor.
All six Westminster seniors are now eligible to advance to Finalist standing in the competition. They have the opportunity to qualify for some 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $32 million to be offered next spring.

Students are evaluated based on their academic record, school curricula and grading system, two sets of test scores, information about the student’s activities and leadership, and a written essay.
Meeting these high academic standards may also qualify them for a Merit Scholarship award to be applied towards college.
