Westminster Students Named National Merit Finalists

Rachel Berry and Valerie Winkler, seniors at Westminster Christian Academy, were recently honored as National Merit Finalists in the 61st annual National Merit Scholarship Program

Students enter the 2016 scholarship program by taking the 2015 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. In September, Berry and Winkler were named National Merit Semifinalists.

Following their recognition as semifinalists, information about their academic records and school and community activities were submitted, in addition to a recommendation by a high school official, an essay, and SAT scores. After an intensive evaluative process, 15,000 students are named as National Merit Finalists.
