Are you at risk for osteoporosis?

Health Protection and Education Services provides free bone density testing

As we all age, our bones can become more brittle; and the risk of breaks and fractures increases. Many times, it takes a fracture to open our eyes to osteoporosis. Health Protection and Education Services (HPES) and Saint Louis College of Pharmacy want to start early on with our patients by screening for fractures with an ultrasound bone density machine. The machine will allow HPES to help patients see their risk for fracture and see how to prevent or slow down osteoporosis.

Each third Saturday of the month, HPES provides free health screening, including total lipid panel (cholesterol), glucose and EKGs. One-on-one consultation with a physician provided at no charge. Screenings are held at the University City Library, 6701 Delmar Boulevard. There are no income requirements and no residency requirements. Call Diane at 314 448-7373.
