Armed Robbers Ask To Borrow Cell Phone Near Wash U Campus
Campus police sent out an alert last night. University City police are investigating.

UNIVERSITY CITY, MO — Two people were walking along Forsyth Blvd. around 7 p.m. last night when a woman approached them asking if she could borrow a cell phone, according to a security memo released by Washington University Emergency Management. As she was talking, an armed man approached and took both victims' cell phones. The man and woman ran east down Forsyth and disappeared.
Less than half an hour later, it happened again. A man on the corner of Eastgate and Cabanne Ave. was also approached by a woman asking to borrow a cell phone. Again, an armed man approached and stole the phone, and both suspects ran. No injuries were reported to police.

All callers can remain anonymous, and the group says they don't use caller ID, voicemail, or any other means to trace phone calls or IP addresses.
