University City Schools Placed On Lockdown After 'Prank'
The lockdown has been lifted and all students and staff are safe. A spokesperson said it was the result of a prank.

UNIVERSITY CITY, MO — Barbara C. Jordan Elementary, Flynn Park Elementary and Brittany Woods Middle Schools, all in University City, were placed on lock down for about 20 minutes this afternoon after a prank phone call put administrators and police on alert. The district's McNair building was also placed on lockdown. The lockdown has now been lifted.
Lori Willis, a spokesperson for the school district, said all University City School District students and staff are safe. At approximately 2:17 p.m., the University City Police Department received a phone call they thought originated from the school district declaring an active shooter situation at Brittany Woods Middle School. Officers put several district schools on lockdown while they responded to the situation.
"We appreciate the rapid response of our police department who responded via normal active shooter protocol," Willis said.
