Man Charged in University City Shooting on Corbitt Avenue in July

A St. Louis County man is charged with shooting a man twice in University City July 13.

Dominik Deangelo Young, 22, of the 6600 block of Raymond Avenue in Wellston, was charged Monday with first-degree assault and armed criminal action.

University City Police said Young shot the man twice with a 9 mm handgun July 13 in the 6500 block of Corbitt Avenue.

Police said the man lost a kidney as a result of his gunshot wounds. The man was able to identify Young by name and in a photo lineup, according to police.

Young is being held in St. Louis County Justice Center. Bail was set at $50,000.
