Trauma May Have Stunted Your Development
If you have experienced unresolved crisis in your life it's time to break free

Have yesterday's trauma(s) stunted your development? Unresolved trauma(s) are capable of holding us hostage. Are you re-experiencing past trauma(s) today? Think about where your fears, anxieties and depression stem from. Do they keep you from experiencing relationships and life as you would like? Did you experience neglect and or abuse in your childhood? Often, emotional abuse or neglect is as damaging as physical abuse. For example, if you were parented by a depressed or alcoholic parent you missed out appropriate guidance and nurturing that you needed. Out of necessity, you may have taken on the parental role. Therefore, missing out on the childhood you needed.
Erik Erikson was a psychologist, whose theory stated that we have 8 stages of psychosocial development from birth to death. If we experience unresolved crisis or trauma we may not master developmental tasks in a particular stage. Moving from one stage to another unsuccessfully may lead to feelings of shame and inadequacy.
