UCHS Women's Choir To Perform With Saint Louis Chamber Chorus

UNIVERSITY CITY, MO — The University City High School Women's Choir will perform with The St. Louis Chamber Chorus April 8 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. The concert is scheduled for 3 p.m. and tickets are available at www.chamberchorus.org, $30 for adults and $10 for students. Parking is free.

TSLCC executive director Laura Frank explained that students will perform alongside adults from a wide range of professions, witnessing firsthand the way music can be a companion through many stages of life. "...Music, unlike soccer or baseball, is something you can carry with you your whole life," she said.

It's a lesson that mirrors the piece they will perform, British composer Sir Granville Bantock's, "A Pageant of Human Life," a cantata exploring the cycle of life from childhood to death.

“The Bantock piece lends itself to this type of collaboration as it explores different stages of life," Frank said. "The University City High School Women’s Choir will sing the sections of the piece representing youth.”
