University City CubCare Celebrates Dr. Seuss' Birthday: Photos

The city daycare program celebrated with activities, games, crafts, and a birthday cake.

UNIVERSITY CITY, MO — CubCare at Centennial Commons celebrated Dr. Suess' 114th birthday March 2 with a cake and kids' activities, games and crafts.

The popular children's author was born on this day in 1904. His books, which include The Cat In the Hat, How the Grinch Stole Christmas!, The Lorax and Hortan Hears a Who! have sold more than 600 million copies and been translated into dozens of languages.

University City's CubCare program offers a daycare area for children from 3 months to 8 years old so that parents can work out, attend a class or go to a meeting in the Centennial Commons building. The program operates from 8 a.m. to noon and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Thursday, 8 a.m. to noon on Friday, and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday. The cost is $2.5o per child for a maximum of 2 hours, and parents must remain in the facility while children are at the daycare.
