University City Schools To Dismiss Two Hours Early

UNIVERSITY CITY, MO — University City Schools will dismiss students two hours early on Friday, Jan. 11, due to weather, officials said this morning. All after-school and evening activities, including all home athletic events, are canceled or postponed for both Friday and Saturday, Jan. 12.

Unleashing Potential (formerly Neighborhood Houses) and the YMCA will still provide after-school, child care for their elementary families, officials said, but the groups ask that parents please pick up their children as early as possible.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for much of the St. Louis area, and officials say to expect heavy snow starting sometime Friday afternoon, with accumulations up to 9 inches.
