To get muscular systems moving and reinforce how every little bit of physical activity counts, HealthWorks! Kids’ Museum St. Louis is hosting a .2K Challenge for individuals and families at the health museum from 9 - 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 8, as part of its 2019 Health Series: Systems Magnified. Not a runner? Not a problem. Those of all ages and abilities are encouraged to participate by walking, running, rolling or even cartwheeling their way across the finish line while learning the importance of warming up, stretching and making physical fitness a priority. Pre-registration is encouraged and can be competed online at www.hwstl.org.

The event will feature a fueling station with the Let’s Move! STL Blender Bike, which utilizes pedal power to make fruit smoothies; fun activities with The Little Gym; and the ability to explore a 26-foot-long, 15-foot-wide and 13-foot-high inflatable MEGA Heart that takes individuals inside the human heart to witness the complexity of its anatomy. Registration also includes free museum admission, allowing participants to gain access to highly interactive exhibits anchored by a gigantic human skeletal climbing structure.

“Children today struggle with obesity, poor nutrition, lack of physical activity and other health issues,” said Shannon Woodcock, president and CEO of HealthWorks! Kids’ Museum St. Louis. “Through fun, engaging, interactive exhibits, programming and the .2K Challenge we are educating and inspiring kids and their families to get moving and make great choices, so they live longer, healthier lives.”
