'Heartbreaking': Toddler Dies After Being Hit By Ice Cream Truck
The 2-year-old girl appears to have been part of a children's party at a nearby home.

WENTZVILLE, MO — A toddler has died after being hit by an ice cream truck Sunday afternoon, the Post-Dispatch reports.
The truck struck 2-year-old Felicity Noelle Karam around 3:45 p.m. on Summer Rain Drive in Wentzville, police said. An off-duty nurse who lived nearby performed CPR at the scene until help arrived, but the Felicity died a few hours later at a local hospital.
The girl, who was with a group of adults, crossed in front of the truck after getting ice cream, according to Wentzville police officer Jacob Schmidt, who called the incident "heartbreaking."

The paper reports the girl lived nearby and that her home had inflatable bounce houses in the yard for a family gathering. The ice cream truck had been sitting across the street from the home for several hours, witnesses said.
Police say they don't expect to file charges against the driver of the ice cream truck. The owner of the truck called the accident "tragic" and said the driver is "distraught."
