Man Stole Computer in Lake Saint Louis, Pawned It in Hazelwood

Police said Gary Dean Darby stole the computer from the Walmart in Lake Saint Louis.

A man was charged with stealing a computer from the Lake Saint Louis Walmart March 1 and pawning it in Hazelwood.

Gary Dean Darby, 26, of the 9800 block of Rhythm Drive in Overland, was charged by the St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office March 11 with felony theft.

Lake Saint Louis Police said Darby stole the computer with the security device still attached March 11 from the Walmart at 6100 Ronald Reagan Drive in Lake Saint Louis. Security videos show him stealing the computer, police reported. The computer was valued at $805.

He then pawned the computer at a store in Hazelwood, police said.

Darby was arrested March 13 and is being held in St. Charles County jail. Bail was set at $15,000, cash only.
